The MJX Hyper Go range has been the yardstick for hobby-grade brushless RC at the ~£120 mark for a couple of years, and for 2026 the whole 1:16 range has had a proper refresh. The 16213 is the sleek low-riding buggy in the new line-up, sitting in the range where the old 16207 used to.

Where the 16212 truggy and the 16218 monster truck are all about big wheels and off-road capability, the 16213 is the driver's car of the range. Low, sleek race-buggy body with a proper rear wing, lower stance, sharper handling. Two body shells in the box (a blue-white-yellow-red #2 race livery and a black-and-yellow #2 stealth shell) plus two full sets of tyres, so you can genuinely spec it two different ways depending on what you're doing that day.

The two tyre sets are the interesting bit. One is a knobblier off-road tread for looser surfaces, dirt and grass. The other is a much smoother, lower-profile hardpack / rally / drift-style tyre that comes into its own on tarmac, hard-packed dirt and gravel car parks. Fit those, and you've essentially got a very different car set up for high-speed hard-surface runs and drifting

Underneath, it's the same proven MJX Hyper Go platform as the 16212 and 16218: 2845 four-pole brushless motor with cooling fan and metal heat sink, 45A brushless ESC, 17g digital steering servo, full metal drivetrain (metal drive shaft, powder metallurgy gears, metal CVDs, metal differentials). Metal oil-filled shocks all round, full ball bearings, water-resistant and dust-proof electronics, and the updated 2.4GHz T3D transmitter with a proper variable throttle limiter pot (a big step up from the 70%/100% switch on the old range's remote): dial in exactly the top speed you want, for whoever's driving.

The big update for 2026 is what's in the box. The 16213 ships with a 2S 2000mAh battery, a huge step up from what the old 16207 came with. Top speed on the stock 2S is up to 46km/h in ideal conditions on a smooth surface, and up to 70km/h on 3S in the same conditions. That's plenty of car straight out of the box, and for most drivers, most of the time, the stock 2S is the sweet spot on this platform: quick enough to be genuinely exciting, controllable enough to actually enjoy outside of speedruns on smooth tarmac. The 16213 is fully 3S capable, whenever you want to unlock the mad end of its capabilities, no other modifications required.

Ride height sits at 33mm, the same as the 16212 truggy. What sets the 16213 apart is the body style and stance: sleeker, slipperier, more purposeful, and set up to reward drivers who want to go quickly and precisely rather than just beast through everything in sight.

  • 2 x sets of tyres (off-road and hardpack/rally)
  • 1 x 2S 2000mAh battery (deans t-style connector)
  • 1 x USB charging cable
  • 1 x Wheelie bar assembly
  • 1 x User manual
  • 1 x Hexagon wrench and screwdriver

Recommended for most ages. Younger drivers can absolutely enjoy this car with adult supervision; the new T3D transmitter has a proper variable throttle limiter pot (not the 70%/100% switch of the old range), so you can dial the top speed all the way down for tiny hands, then inch it up as their skills grow. All children are different, so if in doubt, or they can't be trusted not to set it to max speed the minute you turn your back, they should always be supervised!
