The MJX Hyper Go 14208 is one of those cars that doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. Most people buying their first MJX start with the 16208, and the 14208 often gets overlooked. That's a shame, because for very little more, it's a meaningfully better machine in several ways.
What Is the MJX Hyper Go 14208?
The 14208 is a 1:14 scale 4WD brushless RC off-road truck. It's larger than the 16208 by a noticeable margin - more imposing in hand, more stable at speed, and more capable on really rough terrain due to the extra wheelbase and ground contact.
Like the 16208, it comes ready to run with everything in the box. The brushless motor, ESC, 2S LiPo battery, and 2.4GHz transmitter are all included. It runs on 2S out of the box and is fully capable on 3S.

14208 vs 16208: What's the Actual Difference?
This is the question most people ask. Here's the honest answer:
The 14208 is bigger and more stable. The 1:14 scale gives it a wider track and longer wheelbase compared to the 1:16 16208. At speed on rough ground, it sits flatter and feels more composed. Less twitchy, more planted.
The top speed is slightly lower. The 14208 is marginally slower than the 16208 on the same battery - more torque, less top speed. On 2S, you're looking at around 40 km/h rather than 45 km/h. On 3S, it's still seriously quick at around 60 km/h.
It costs about £20 more. At £119.99 vs £99.95, the question is whether the size and stability improvement is worth it.
For drivers who bash on proper rough terrain, want something more substantial in hand, or have already owned the 16208 and want to step up, the answer is yes. For a first RC car or a gift for a younger driver, the 16208 is probably the smarter start.
On the Terrain
The 14208 is a genuinely excellent off-road basher. The extra size means it handles long grass better than the 16208, navigates bigger obstacles with more confidence, and feels more settled on really rough ground.
On 2S, it's fast and controllable - similar feel to the 16208 but with more authority. On 3S, it becomes a very different machine: seriously rapid, aggressive acceleration, and capable of covering ground quickly in a way that the smaller 16-series trucks can't quite match.
Build quality matches the 16208's strengths - metal CVD driveshafts, aluminium oil-filled shocks, proper 4WD drivetrain. The same things that make the 16208 reliable carry over here.
Is It Worth the Extra Money Over the 16208?
If you:
- Drive mostly on rough, uneven terrain
- Want more presence and a more substantial feel in hand
- Have already had a 16208 and want to step up
- Drive on longer grass where the increased ride height is helpful
...then yes, the 14208 earns the extra £20 easily.
If you're buying a first RC car, or buying for a younger driver, or have a smaller driving space, the 16208 is probably the smarter choice. There's no shame in starting small - the 16208 is one of the best value RC cars you can buy at any price.
Verdict
The MJX Hyper Go 14208 is an excellent 1:14 basher that offers genuine step-up capability over the 16-series trucks. More size, more stability, longer range, and still under £120 with everything included. It's a shame it doesn't get more attention - for the right buyer, it's one of the best value options in our entire range.
